Director of Sales

Toronto (or remote) / Sales / Full-time

Reporting to CEO, this position will drive all strategic and tactical aspects of sales operations and alliances with key partners to maximize growth.

The Director Sales must have the standing and experience necessary for partner interactions at senior management levels, including an understanding of business needs, delivering value propositions, and related business benefits to a multi-tiered business.

You will leverage your experience in commercial/corporate real estate or property/facilities management to uncover opportunities and enable these businesses to realize the value of automating real estate business processes and create intelligent building systems, portfolios, and cities.

Partner, market, and people management are critical to the role, as well as, effective and clear communication and timely decision making. The role covers both strategic and operational aspects and provides a rewarding, challenging, and interesting assignment at the same time.

The operational aspect of the role is important, as there is a need to continually develop our systems and tools. The role requires a strong combination of sales skills and experience, industry experience, people skills, and operational discipline and rigor.


Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

  • Building a high performing sales culture to achieve optimal performance, ensure mutually beneficial partnerships, and increase sales;
  • Assisting in the identification and recruitment of strategic customers and partners;
  • Accountable for solid, long-term business decisions, including influencing product development, joint marketing, solution bundle creation, and overall achievement of aggressive revenue goals;
  • Identifying opportunities to expand sales through the design and execution of programs and initiatives to grow sales and the partner eco-system;
  • Growing the business through existing reseller partnerships and new partner recruitment;
  • Providing excellent leadership and driving motivation within the sales team;
  • Developing sales plans by territory/region;
  • Managing and monitoring the sales revenue plan by controlling expenses while meeting or exceeding revenue goals and maximizing product margin;
  • Working closely with the Marketing Department to develop, implement and manage regional channel marketing programs to increase sales;



  • Bachelor’s degree required, with 5+ years of professional experience;
  • 3+ years working in one or any of commercial real estate, retail real estate, corporate real estate, property/facilities management, or commercial services
  • Successful track record of leading and managing sales, partners or alliances within a well-regarded software company
  • An early career in property management discipline would be a distinct advantage;
  • Experience in the cloud and IoT technologies i.e. – MS Azure, AWS, Cumolocity, sensors, controls
  • Experience growing and managing an indirect portfolio of clients and a small, but a high-performing team of Sales Executives;
  • Relationship driven with a strong executive presence and solid industry reputation, with the ability to bring to the table an extensive network of executives;
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and conceptual skills;
  • Demonstrated commitment to high professional ethical standards and a diverse workplace;
  • High tolerance for stress, ability to operate in a fast-paced environment;
  • Experience managing simultaneous complex projects.
